An Important Notice to Our Followers...

Today (1/29/21), Head Mod Mala exited the Reign server without informing the rest of the Mod Team. Since she left without any notice, we can only assume she is no longer interested in proceeding with this project. With this unexpected departure, it is with a heavy heart that the remaining Mod Team will not be moving forward with Reign.

We are aware that shutting this project down in the middle of contributor apps is not ideal, but with no Head Mod in place, the rest of the Mod Team has decided this is the best course of action.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank all of you for the support you’ve given us thus far.

♕ Application Guidelines ♕

♕ GENERAL ♕

‣ You MUST be 18 years old or older to apply!
‣ You MUST own a Discord account or be willing to create one.

♕ ARTISTS / MERCH ARTISTS ♕

‣ Artists will be asked to provide links to, what they consider, their three best artworks. Providing a portfolio link is optional.

‣ AT LEAST one of the three required samples MUST include a BNHA character (preferably Shigaraki himself, although it isn't mandatory) and must be fully colored with a background. Additionally, if you're applying for the NSFW portion of the zine, you MUST submit one NSFW sample at the very least. Sketches and wips will not be accepted. We would like to see finished pieces in order to judge artistic skills properly. Various artstyles are welcomed, as long as the portrayed characters are recognizable.

‣ Merch Artists please note, effects, shading and backgrounds are optional for your submitted samples (except for prints). These samples do not have to be as detailed as those requested for standard Artists.

‣ A minimum of two pitches, detailing the concepts you are interested in drawing will be requested when the contributor applications will open.

‣ Artist applications will be judged on the lineart, use of colors, shading, coherent anatomy, background and overall consistency of the piece.

♕ WRITERS ♕

‣ Writers will be asked to provide links to what they consider their three best works. Providing a portfolio link is optional.

‣ AT LEAST one of the three samples MUST be BNHA oriented and be a minimum of 2K words (preferably including Shigaraki himself, although it isn't mandatory). Other provided samples can be under 2K, excepts will also be accepted..

‣ A minimum of two pitches, detailing the concepts you are interested in writing will be requested when the contributor applications will open.

‣ Writer applications will be judged on character portrayal, attention to detail, ability to create imagery and overall readability.

Q: What is Reign?
A: Reign is a physical and digital SFW zine with a NSFW digital add-on centered around BNHA's main antagonist, Tomura Shigaraki!

Q: Is this zine for-profit?
A: Yes, this zine will be for-profit.

Q: Will there be physical merch?
A: Yes!

Q: How will contributors be compensated?
A: Contributors will receive a free digital copy of the zine. If funds allow, we will explore additional compensation including a physical copy of the zine, merch, and/or monetary profit.

Q: Can I apply to more than one position?
A: Yes, but you will only be accepted for one position.

Q: How many contributors will be accepted?
A: Approximately 29 Artists, 13 Writers, and 3 Merch Artists.

Q: Is this zine 18+?
A: Yes, this zine is 18+.

Q: What is the NSFW add-on?
A: This will be an additional digital booklet containing NSFW problematic themes and ship-related content.

Q: Can I include characters besides Shigaraki?
A: Yes, other characters can be included, but we do ask that Shigaraki remain the focus of any pieces featured in this zine and its NSFW add-on.

Q: Is there any restricted content?
A: Yes, there is restricted content. Please see below the things we WILL NOT be allowing on this project.

Additionally, any ship-related content will be restricted to the NSFW add-on only.

Q: Can Artists & Writers collab?
A: Yes, collabs are allowed, but will be limited. We will be featuring 3 collabs in the main zine and 1 in the NSFW add-on. We will be using the "Blind Pitch" method to determine these collabs.

Q: What is the “Blind Pitch” method?
A: This method includes adding writer concepts to a form without their names and allowing artists to choose the 3 concepts they like best. The mod team will pair contributors based on these selections.

Q: How many pieces are contributors allowed to create?
A: All contributors are expected to create one piece. Additional pieces outside of this are limited to collabs selected via the “Blind Pitch” method.

Q: Can “Traditional Artists” apply?
A: Yes, but they MUST be in possession of a good scanner that can support 350 DPI. Traditional Artist will be expected to follow the same guidelines as Digital Artists.

Q: Are AUs allowed?
A: Yes, AUs are allowed but will be limited as the focus of the zine is Shigaraki’s canon (or canon divergent) ascension.

Q: In the NSFW add-on, will contributors be able to choose the characters they want to ship Shigaraki with?
A: We will do our best to satisfy everyone’s requests and preferences. However, we do want to avoid repeating ships and content, and will instead be prioritizing variety. To accommodate this we will be restricting certain ships to two appearances in this add-on. We recommend you prepare a list of back-up pitches/characters should we be unable to provide you with your first choice.
